How does FretGuard detect invoice anomalies?

FretGuard reconciles each invoice line with your tariff grids and invoicing rules. It identifies duplicates, rate discrepancies and ancillary charges, then displays the reference and calculation used.

Is my billing data secure?

All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. We operate on European infrastructure and apply strict GDPR governance.

How do you handle false positives in anomaly detection?

Your teams can confirm, dismiss or comment on each alert. These decisions remain recorded and allow you to adjust the control rules specific to your organization.

Can I export data and reports generated by FretGuard?

Yes, all data can be exported to Excel or PDF.

What file formats does FretGuard accept for import?

FretGuard accepts Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and CSV files. You can import direct exports from most TMS and transport management tools without prior reprocessing.

Does FretGuard work with all carriers?

FretGuard relies on the rates you negotiate, regardless of the company. The control currently covers road and maritime transport for which invoices and schedules are imported.

How long does it take to get started with FretGuard?

Import your tariff grids and your first invoices to launch a first check. The FretGuard team can assist you in preparing references and configuring your environment.

How much savings can I expect with FretGuard?

The potential depends on your volume, your tariff grids and the controls already in place. A demo on your own invoices helps identify discrepancies and estimate the amounts actually recoverable.

How are negotiated contract rates configured?

You import your price tables in Excel or CSV format. FretGuard structures zones, tiers, fees and validity periods, then uses them as a reference for each check.

What is the procedure for checking transport invoices?

Checking a transport invoice means verifying consistency between the carrier invoice and contractual data: agreed rate, weight, distance, ancillary charges. Traditionally done in Excel, this process can now be automated with tools like FretGuard, which compare each invoice line to the tariff grids and raise alerts when a discrepancy appears.

What is the risk in the event of a false transport invoice?

A false or inaccurate invoice can mean a direct extra cost (undetected overcharge), tax sanctions in an administrative audit (VAT wrongly deducted), and criminal liability for fraud. Forgery and use of forged documents carry up to 3 years in prison and a €375,000 fine. Automating control limits these risks by documenting each discrepancy.

What is the new bill law in 2026?

The reform of electronic invoicing (resulting from the finance law for 2024) makes the issuance and receipt of electronic invoices compulsory for all French companies, progressively from 2026. Invoices must pass through dematerialization platforms (PDP) and be automatically controlled for tax purposes. FretGuard fits into this framework to automate the control of your transport invoices.

What is the legal deadline for contesting a transport invoice?

The general time limit for contesting an invoice is 5 years (five-year limitation period in commercial matters). However, it is recommended to report any anomalies as soon as possible, ideally before payment. The sooner a discrepancy is detected — thanks to an automated monitoring tool — the easier it is to report to the carrier.
